New! Railpark on early snow in Eventyr
This winter we're inviting you to a brand new test project in Eventyr - rail on early snow! From 2 November, SkiStar will be opening a very special arena for freeskiers and snowboarders, with snow stored from the previous winter. The rail park is free to use until the ski centre opens for the season.
The rail area is located in the Eventyr children's area, next to the Radisson Blu Resort Trysil, and offers a slope approximately 100 metres long and 20 metres wide. There will be between four and six rail elements with blue and red difficulty levels, perfect for both beginners and more experienced jibbers. Transport up to the start of the course is easy via a conveyor belt with a tunnel.
- 'This will be a free offer for anyone who wants to jump-start their park skiing with simple rails until our new park opens, which will happen when there's enough snow and all the jumps and rails are ready' says Gudrun Sanaker Lohne, Destination Manager at SkiStar Trysil. 'We hope that this will be a great offer for both local skiers and guests who visit us'.
Cross-country skiing and rails on the same weekend
The opening weekend coincides with the early season opening for cross-country skiing and biathlon at Trysilfjellet Arena, giving you a unique opportunity to combine rail and cross-country skiing in one and the same weekend. To mark the opening of the rail park, there will be an informal railjam with music and a good atmosphere, and perhaps some well-known profiles from the environment will also turn up.
After the opening weekend, the rail area will be open every weekend from Friday to Sunday, from 10.00-16.00, as long as the snow lasts or until the ski resort officially opens for the season. The area will be unmanned, but our technicians and patrols will keep an eye on operations throughout the season.
- ‘This will be an exciting addition to our early snow offering, and we look forward to seeing both new and old jibbers in Eventyr,’ says Sanaker Lohne.
