Reduced CO2 emissions

In 2015, we were pioneers when we began to transition from fossil fuels to the renewable diesel HVO100, also known as biofuel. Today, all our piste machines at our facilities in both Sweden and Norway are driven by HVO100.

Thanks to the fact that all piste machines are now powered by renewable fuels, we have reduced our carbon emissions by more than half (67%) in our operations.

As well as making our piste machines even more efficient, all piste machines now have snow depth sensors with GPS. This allows them to produce the right amount of snow in the right places. If you want to know more about snow production, read here.

92% of our vehicles are powered by renewable sources

We have increased our HVO100 consumption by 13 (17) per cent compared to last year. We have reduced our diesel consumption by 81 (35) percent and increased our petrol consumption by 11 (7) percent.

The reduction in diesel is due to the fact that we have switched to HVO100. During the financial year, 92 (91) per cent of our vehicle fleet ran on renewable fuel. We are working strategically to switch the remaining 8 (9) per cent to electric snowmobiles, for example.

Next step

The next step after renewable fuels will be electric vehicles.
