Get ready with our checklist

By preparing before you start your photo shoot, you can take better-looking photos that will help guests imagine what it's like to be in your accommodation. Use our room-by-room guide.

Room by room checklist

Exterior

  • Drive cars away from the driveway
  • Hide unwanted items (garden hose, toys, tools, etc.)
  • Tidy up ornaments or plants near the front door
  • Take care of any gardening needs, such as dead plants, brown patches in the grass or bushes that need trimming
  • If you have accessibility features, like a ramp, please put them in their place

Kitchen

  • Put away dishes and groceries
  • Clean worktops and surfaces
  • Place all cooking ingredients in cupboards or on shelves
  • Try to arrange visible objects symmetrically (hanging pots, bar stools, etc.)

Living room

  • Remove unnecessary items from the tables
  • Fluff cushions and arrange blankets on the sofa
  • If there is a fireplace that can be lit (and monitored), light it when you take the photos
  • Switch off the TV and hide any cables 

Bedroom

  • Fold duvet and lay pillow neatly
  • Fluff pillows (include one pillow per guest)
  • Clear things off the bedside table, dresser and desk
  • Remove any phones and remote controls from the bedside table
  • If you have accessibility amenities, such as a remote control for an adjustable bed, please put them in their place

Bathroom

  • Clean the bathroom
  • Open the shower curtain
  • Close the toilet seat
  • Double check that the mirror is spotless
  • Leave beautiful soap on the sink, remove other toiletries and towels
  • Replace the toilet paper with a new roll
  • If you have accessibility amenities, like a shower chair, please put them out
  • If you have a sauna, please place the water bucket and scoop neatly on the sauna bench
