Training on snow in Trysil
During the course of the year, we receive visits from various club and national team training groups, both nationally and internationally. There may also be individuals who want to train alone or with an instructor. Trysil offers training in alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and biathlon.
Alpine ski racing and training
Trysil Race Academy has Høgegga as its Race Centre, where you'll find some of Scandinavia's best slopes for alpine ski racing and training. The TRA coaches have extensive experience of developing and coaching alpine skiers - including athletes who have raced, will race and are actively racing in the World Cup.
Trysil Race Academy has organised several European Cups, FIS races and youth cups, as well as the Norwegian Alpine Championships.
Here you'll meet an international-level team that has been involved in developing and training alpine skiers of WC standard. Training in slalom, giant slalom and super-G is offered when the conditions are right.
Whether you're an aspiring alpine skier, an established skier or want to see if this is something for you, you can book a spot in the race school throughout the season. The session is split into mornings and afternoons, where you'll get good follow-up and analysis to take the next step in your career.
If you're a member of a club or team, it's possible to organise training on your own slope. By renting a training slope in Trysil, SkiStar and Trysil Race Academy can provide a tailor-made package that includes accommodation, food, training programme and other activities.
Cross-country training
The cross-country skiing season in Trysil is unique. Before the natural snow has settled, there are 5 kilometres of groomed cross-country ski trails at Trysilfjellet Arena. Early cross-country skiing opened on 1 November in 2024 and runs until 15 December.
Cross-country skiing in Trysil is popular. Once the snow has settled, there will be 100 kilometres of cross-country ski trails for both classic and skating. If you want to practise cross-country skiing in beautiful forest and mountain terrain, you won't be disappointed when you come to Trysil.
Training in biathlon
The cross-country arena has a complete biathlon facility with 25 manual discs for hire. Here you'll find a warming room by the stand, and as a paying training group, mats, cardboard, a staple gun and black/white spray paint are included in the price.
