Torchlight skiing - magical thrills on skis in the dark
On Wednesdays in week 52 and from weeks 2-12, when the sun has set and the stars begin to appear, we gather at the top of the slope for one of the most atmospheric traditions of the ski season - torchlight skiing. This is an offer that everyone with an active SkiPass can take part in!
With torches in your hands and excited smiles on your face, the familiar slope is transformed into a luminous path through the winter darkness. This is an experience that combines excitement, togetherness and pure magic - perfect for children who love adventure.
Join a torch run in Trysil
In Trysil, there is torchlight skiing at hill 15 at Turistsenteret on Wednesday evenings in week 52, as well as from week 2 up to and including week 12. Take the Sindretrekket (T7) up to the top before 20:00 to join in.
There will also be a torch run followed by fireworks on New Year's Eve at both Turistsenteret and Høyfjellssenteret. Same meeting point at the top of Sindretrekket at Turistsenteret, or at Smotten (F11) at the Høyfjellssenteret.
Welcome to an exciting experience, and remember that torchlight skiing is free as long as you have an active SkiPass!
A very special experience
Going down the slopes in the dark, with torches shedding flickering light on the snow, gives children a feeling of being part of something very special. It's as if the ground comes alive in a new way - quiet, mysterious and filled with anticipation. For the youngest, this is both an exciting challenge and a safe experience, as they are always closely followed.
Torchlight skiing is about more than just skiing. It's about sharing a magical moment with others - from the first nervous bursts of laughter to the proud feeling of having completed the trip. The light from the torches, the sounds of skis on snow, and maybe even a glimpse of the Northern Lights on a clear evening, create memories that children will take with them long after the snow has melted.
It's an experience that lets kids experience skiing in a whole new way - not just as a sport, but as an adventure. Perfect for young and old explorers who want to experience the joy of something different, and perhaps find a new spark of skiing pleasure.
Join us on Wednesday - maybe this evening will be the highlight of the season!
