Winter news in Sälen

In order for our guests, new and returning, to discover how wonderful it is to ski in Sälen, we are constantly working to improve the ski resort, service and accommodation options. With the aim of always providing our guests with a memorable mountain experience, we are constantly working to offer new and exciting experiences every season.

Fantastic travel news

We are pleased to announce the launch of direct flights from London to the Scandinavian Mountains Airport in collaboration with SkiStar partner SAS. This new route offers travellers unparalleled convenience, with transfers as short as 10 minutes to Sälen, making it an ideal destination for a quick getaway.

SAS will operate flights from London Heathrow towards the end of this upcoming winter, on Sundays from 2 February to 30 March 2025. The following year, Crystal Ski Holidays will set up weekly flights from London Gatwick through TUI Airways. These flights will begin on 21 December 2025, with the final departure of the season on 5 April 2026.

Better lift experience

In Hundfjället, we are weatherproofing the journey up to the summit by replacing the old Vinkelliften jumper lift with a brand new button lift. The new lift will be longer and will go all the way up to the Lyktan restaurant. From there, a ski route will be built so that families with children can easily get to Trollskogen via a single lift.

More efficient snow production

Good snow conditions are important for a great skiing experience, which is why slope 36, Tomasbacken at Sälfjällstorget, will have a new snow system in place. This will be installed to streamline production in the area, both in terms of energy consumption and to produce snow faster than before.
