New! Ski School at Hammarbybacken

During the winter season of 24/25, Hammarbybacken will offer ski school for children and young people. This is the perfect chance for families and young skiers living in or visiting Stockholm to learn or improve their skiing and snowboarding skills—without the need for a long trip to the mountains.

Our ski school is designed to suit everyone—from complete beginners to those with some experience on the slopes.

Practical Information

• Each course is a single session with a pre-determined lesson time.
• Your SkiPass is included in the price when booking a ski school session.
• Equipment rental is booked separately. If you don’t have your own gear, this can easily be pre-booked and collected on-site at Hammarbybacken’s SkiStar Shop.
• To avoid delays, we recommend arriving early, especially on weekends when demand is high.
• The rental shop opens 30 minutes before the lifts start running on weekends.
• Places are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis—book now to secure your spot!
• Full details, including the meeting point for your session, will be provided in your confirmation email a few days before your booked lesson.

Skiing or Snowboarding?

Whether your children are eager to try traditional alpine skiing or would prefer snowboarding, we have tailored lessons to suit both. At Hammarbybacken’s ski school, our highly skilled and certified instructors create a safe, fun, and engaging learning environment.

Beginner or Intermediate Course?

To ensure everyone gets the most from their session, we offer two skill levels:

• Beginner Course: Perfect for first-timers, where the focus is on learning the basics—balance, turns, and safely navigating the slopes with control.
• Intermediate Course: Ideal for those with some prior experience looking to refine their skills. This course focuses on improving technique, control, and confidence on steeper slopes.

Tailored to Age Groups

To make the lessons both productive and enjoyable, we have split the ski school into two age-specific groups:

• Valle’s Ski School (5–7 years): A playful and fun-filled experience for the youngest skiers, turning each lesson into an exciting little adventure.
• Youth Course (8–13 years): A dynamic and challenging environment for older children, where instructors help build advanced skills and confidence. Perfect for young skiers and snowboarders ready to take things to the next level.
